Road trip gift to newly graduated college student son…
The proximity to Acadia National Park was unbelievable….Up the hill, and there it was! Also, only 5 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor….clean clean clean….when fridge didn’t work, there was a young lady there to figure out the problem and resolve it within 10 minutes….
Roomy Retro Motel in Great Condition
We had 2 nights at the Edenbrook and a wonderful experience. Classic 1950’s decor preserved in great condition. Large room, comfortable bed, parking right out front plus drip coffee maker. Good location 5 minutes from downtown. Great value.
Still a gem!
This was our second time here and we still believe it’s the gem of Bar Harbor. The rooms are nothing fancy but I didn’t drive 3 hours to stay inside! Our room was as usual spotless and the price, even for Memorial Day weekend, were superb!!
Spacious and Clean
I highly recommend this place, it’s an old motel but it is very spacious, clean, quaint, and nostalgic. Granted it is not located right next to the ocean view but if you are visiting Acadia National Park you will see it anyway. Edenbrook is located roughly 7 minutes away and the nightly rate very reasonable. I would most definitely stay here again.
Family run, clean, and spacious rooms.
We found this place in a guide book and thought it seemed like a good deal in this resort town. So glad we decided to give it a try.
This is a seasonal hotel that shuts down mid-October and reopens in the spring. Rooms are located in 4 buildings that are spaced “going up the hillside” All rooms are quite large by hotel standards and have access to an outside deck that you share with others.
Building #4 is the only one with 2 stories, and guessing if you want a view you should stay on the second floor or stay in building number 3.
Since it is family owned, expect the front desk to be friendly and accommodating. I would suggest this place if you want more local flavor and less high end boutique hotels. Save your money and contribute to the local economy, not the chain hotels.
Very nice motel!
A friend and I stayed here for two nights on the recommendation of a friend of my friend. This is a great little motel! We were in the same building as the office. The room was basic (no fridge), but was very spacious and extremely clean! It was perfect for what we needed and the price was great, too! The beds were very comfortable and even though it is on the main road, we couldn’t hear any street noise when sleeping. It’s very close to Bar Harbor – just a couple minutes drive. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, giving us a map and booklet of restaurants and recommending some good places to eat. I will definitely stay here again when back in Bar Harbour!
Really enjoyed my stay
Great place – slept the best here of my 2-week holiday!
The room was a good size, with a functioning ceiling fan. There was a sliding door (with lockable screen) opening onto the verandah outside so it could be left open at night for fresh air: YEAH! Chairs and small table out there to sit and relax and have a glass of wine or read (but sadly no view).
Nice big beds, comfy matrass and pillows, lots of towels and toiletries. Place to put your luggage on a rack, and to hang things. Room was nice and clean and smelt fresh. Carpets looked clean (unlike many upmarket hotels).
A little distance from the town, but a free shuttle bus into town every half hour from right outside the hotel.
I was impressed.
What a find!
Edenbrook Motel is the best value around! Super clean and comfortable. The motel is 50’s era so just the basics but you get so much more than you pay for! The owner is sweet and gave us tips on where to see the sunset on Cadillac Mountain (thank you so much!)
